Artwork Care Instructions
Artwork Care Instructions
To preserve the beauty and longevity of your original oil painting, please follow these care guidelines:
1. Avoid direct sunlight
Keep the painting away from strong, direct sunlight to prevent fading or discoloration over time. Indirect natural light is completely fine.
2. Maintain stable temperature and humidity
Do not display the artwork in areas with excessive moisture, extreme heat, or rapid temperature changes (bathrooms, kitchens, above radiators, near heaters).
3. Dust gently when needed
If dust appears, clean the surface gently using a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Do not apply pressure. Never use water, cleaning products, or chemicals on the varnished surface.
4. Avoid touching the painted surface
Fingerprints, oils, and skin moisture can affect the varnish over time. Handle the painting by the sides of the frame or the stretcher bars.
5. Keep away from steam
Avoid areas with cooking steam or heavy vapors, as they can slowly dull the finish.
6. Hang securely
Ensure the artwork is hung with proper hardware to prevent falls, bending, or canvas warping.
7. If framing, use quality materials
Should you choose to frame the painting, use acid-free materials and ensure the artwork has room to 'breathe.' Do not press glass directly against an oil painting.
8. Long-term storage
If storing the artwork, wrap it in acid-free paper and keep it in a dry, climate-stable environment.
